Sty in the Eye

Lucy found the Windex and sprayed her face thinking it was water. We thoroughly rinsed one of her eyes. Needless to say, she did not like having the stream of water in her eye. The next day her other eyelid was red and swollen. It took 3 days for a sty to appear. We found out what to do for sty's. Apply a warm compress to infected eye. Use tear free baby wash on a Q-tip to wash sty. Rinse with warm wash rag. Apply a warm compress again. She hates it when we have to clean her eye out.

A few months ago, before Lucy's 2nd birthday, she severely burned the back of her right hand on the toaster oven. Aaron was able to get silver healing pads from the hospital to apply to her hand daily. It worked beautifully! It took the pain away and quickly healed.

Lucy's first dental cleaning

So cute'

Air R U Daddy?

Daddy is gone to New Harmony for 3 months. Class work is finally over and clinical rotations begin. He chose a physical therapist in Cedar City for the first one. His last two are in Vegas. Rachel came down to help us for a month while Aaron is away. She is so great with the kids. Bedtime is when I need the most help.
We sure miss daddy during the weekdays. We are thankful for Skype which is how we stay connected during the week. The interaction between Lucy and Aaron on Skype is priceless. I recorded Lucy and Daddy playing...
We love the weekends when we are all together again.

There are 2 Sides to every story & Hungry Hungry Henry

Dental: Welcome back to prison. Inmate: My girlfriend was in an accident. They said I violated my parole to be with her. Dental: I am sorry to hear that wait... is your girlfriend on parole too? Inmate: drops his head to his chest and says 'yes'. Dental: Were you both in another state? Inmate: drops his head to chest and says 'yes'.

It seems the case with those who have lived in the back house. There are rumors in our ward about how they are being kicked out. Have they not liked the situation from the beginning? YES. Have they been receiving free rent for 5 months and refused to pay for rent when asked? YES. Have they refused to sign a contract? YES.

Henry is about 16-17 lbs. He is 4 months old and hungry hungry hungry. I started feeding him solids - Buckwheat and mashed bananas. He loves it! Rachel has been staying with us for 1.5 weeks now. She steamed some carrots then used the magic bullet to blend it with the buckwheat. He loves that too. He gagged when I gave him peas. He loves the watermelon juice. It is so fun to feed him. His hands are so quick that if you don't make it into his mouth you'll feed his hand.

Henry is also rolling over now and tells you how he feels.

Bless all the food in the refrigerator

I have on occasion continued to pray during our evening prayer even though I have fallen asleep. Aaron got a good laugh when I started to bless all the food in the refrigerator. I have said a few other classic ones but I can't remember them. Too bad.

I have 4 Nectarines in front of me ready to eat. Aaron came around the corner looked at the fruit then at me and started laughing. I had already eaten 2. I laughed with him and explained that these nectarines were going to go bad and I can't let that happen to such delicious fruit. Aaron ate 2 of them. Boy was I glad he did. I was feeling pretty full.

Annie, for the first time

Super Summer Theater at Spring Mountain Ranch presents Annie June 2011. Lucy is the lead character. No really, everyone around us watched or heard her more than the show. Our Lucy loved the musical Annie. She sang every song with enthusiasm. Her arms would rise and fall throughout each song especially when the orphans would sing their parts. She made friends quickly. At one point during the show she took off and bolted down the isle towards the stage. Aaron chased after her, but wondered what she would have done if he hadn't got her. Would she have ran on stage? Who knows. We had a delightful experience under the stars. Lucy's first play, first time seeing the stars, first time staying up til 11:30pm, first time singing to a large audience. I love seeing things for the first time from her eyes. Henry was a trooper. He was a little frightened because the sound was so loud. I couldn't have asked for a better evening with my wonderful family.

Little Swimmer

Aaron and I both love our Lucy. She loves the water. Our neighbors have a pool and have invited us over anytime to go swimming. Lucy has such a fun time playing with daddy. She is a die hard swimmer. She will jump in the water no matter the temperature of the water and with or without someone there to catch her (which is a little worrisome). We bought her an inflated pool tonight and she just couldn't wait to get in. She just climbed in and out of it while we pumped it up.

Lucy's newest phrases are: "ousy air r u..." translated: Mousy where are you? Every night we play that game. She loves it. "Oh, ma..." translated: Oh, man! She is so funny!

Aaron is off for 3 weeks before he starts his clinical in Cedar City. So he is playing Mr. Mom. He does a great job with Lucy and Henry. I love his willingness to serve our little family. I came home from work today and Lucy ran up to me saying.. Mommy, mommy and hugged my legs. I loved it.

Aaron has always loved watching TV or Movies especially when we can watch them together. Our latest TV show is America's Got Talent. It is something we both enjoy doing with each other.

Lucy is a fun little singer. We sing I am a Child Of God every night together. She knows the tune very well and all the words (at least in her language she does). I think Aaron and Lucy should sing a duet in Sacrament one of these days.

Ben visited us last night. He was one of Aaron's roommates at BYU. I liked him because he talked to me like I was a good friend of his. None of his other roomies took the time. He is stylish, intelligent, and is a world traveler. I love listening to his stories. We had a delightful visit, I must say.

I listen to this on my drive to Prison:
It's amazing how well my day goes. It is as if the Universe knows who I am and what I want and things flow to me in such a timely way. It is as if I'm dancing with the universe. Emergencies are non existant in my physical experience. The people that come to me are benefiting by their exposure to me. It is as if I have a secretary in the sky that is taking care of everything and just feeding it to me with such ease and grace and comfort that my day unfold so magnificently.
When I wake up in the morning, I am infused with the energy of well being. I am just glad to be alive. I can hardly wait to exercise my body and I am thankful for my children. When they awaken my children and spouse are joyful and happy to be alive. We have such fun interacting with one another. This is some of the most precious time of our day interacting with one another.
As I am making my way to different events of my day, it is always such a lovely time. I am so appreciative of all the wonderful people I have in my life. I am grateful for the spiritual support and the angelic help that is taking care of the details and making sure that this day is going to unfold in a magical way. I love seeing their attention to detail and I love seeing them eagerly finding more ways to make everything go comfortable. I love recognizing that they are helping me bring my life into balance.
I love being a wife. I love being a mom. I love getting into a space wherein I realize that I can deal with anything. I love connecting with the infinite power and knowledge of my life. I love knowing the benefit I offer to others. Most of all I love the joy of the unfolding. I love new surprises that come, my ability to move with them, and the inspiration that comes effortlessly. I love knowing that I can participate in anything I want to participate in. I love knowing I have infinite choices.

Teething already?? Precocious Henry.

Henry is 3 months old and his lower incisors are erupting all ready! Lucy was 5.5 months old when she got hers and I thought that was early. He is so so happy through all the construction going on in his little mouth.
Lucy decided to join in the fun. She is getting her second molars. They both have elevated temperatures. Peppermint oil on their feet works well to reduce the temps.

Homecoming

New Harmony for the weekend for Van Wagoner's homecoming. David and Carol's love for the gospel is refreshing. So much excitement and enthusiasm.

18 months and 3 months

Aaron and I spoke in Sacrament last week. My talk was on Character and Aaron's was on Gratitude. Geneva watched our kids during Sacrament. She did a better job than us! We might let her watch our kids all the time or learn what she did with them because it worked!

David and Carol returned home from their honorable mission in Romania yesterday! They were gone a short 18 months. What great examples they are to us. We love them and are so glad they are home. I made sure that we had flowers planted in the front yard before everyone arrived. I am grateful we did because David commented on them when he walked in.

My sweet dear Henry is 3 months old today! Aaron has found a giggle spot on his back ribs. It will bring a laugh to anyone who hears it. Tomorrow is Fast Sunday. We are blessing Henry at 9 am.

Mommy, Mommy, Mommy

Lucy loves to say Mommy, Mommy, Mommy all around the house. She mostly just wants me to look at her. She actually found her shoes the other day after Daddy said to find your shoes. She went right to where her shoes were and brought them to daddy. She gets so excited when Daddy comes home - she sometimes runs to the door just waiting to start the tickling session.

She officially threw away her binky herself about a week ago. She told us she was done with her binky by her actions. Every time we would give her the binky she would through it out of the crib.

Whenever things are quiet, I know Lucy must be into something. I found her in our bathroom shower sitting against the glass door with a pair of scissors and a poopy diaper. I took the scissors out of her hands and she scampered out of our bedroom.

I rocked her to sleep this afternoon. I was stroking her forehead when she reached out to grab my wrist with one hand and gently touched the palm of her other hand to to my palm. She held my hand with both of her hands until she fell asleep. I looked at her sleeping beautiful face and thought I am the luckiest woman alive.

Henry wakes up every morning so happy. His wings flap with the biggest grin imaginable. I can't help but have a big smile myself.

Aaron's finals are almost done. He has been so busy this past month with studying, massage labs, etc... I am looking forward to this semester ending!

Floss snatcher

Our sweet Lucy snatches our floss when we are not looking, runs away, and hides. We find her wrapped in floss and eating it.
Today at church we were asked if Lucy hits Henry at home because she is hitting all the kids in nursery. How do we have an FHE to teach her not to hit? We are going to ask the expert... Jamie!

Ox is in the Myer, Teething and more

My sweet husband got a call from his best friends wife today. She was on the verge of tears. No one was around to help her with a plumbing problem at their rental. Aaron was going to study all day for finals next week, but ended up helping them out. I love that he loves to serve.

Lucy is getting her upper right molar; specifically #A! How exciting! I felt one of the erupting cusps after brushing her teeth tonight. She has had a slight fever and stuffy nose over the past few days. Lightbulb. I wondered why she was a little more cuddly than usual. She would get angry at Henry if he was in my arms. She wants to sit on our laps while we eat.

We watched Tangled tonight on the big screen we just got from Costco. (We love Costco!) Lucy sings along when the lantern song is on. She is very much into character when she sings. She is absolutely adorable. She loves to spin around and around, and to walk around the house on her tippy toes. She also loves the Wonder Pets and Blues Clues because she can sing the songs.

For approx. 1.5 years, Lucy has had two favorite animals, mousey and moosey. She bites, chews, plays with, and sleeps with them. They have a foul odor to them. We have tried to introduce new ones but she won't have anything to do with them.

Henry is the easiest baby to take care of! I am so glad I read the Baby Whisperer. He falls asleep so well and is happy when he is awake. Aaron tells me what a wonderful job I am doing with our little boy.

Laughed so hard... it hurt

Prior to pouring a glass of OJ for some kids in the backyard, I shook the jug to mix it. Little did I know that the lid was not on very tight and OJ flew everywhere including on Clay. Jessica had a stunned look on her face and then laughed. I completely cracked up. Moments earlier, Marilee had asked me if I could watch Clay while she mailed a letter. Clay said to his mom... 'This rain tastes good mom'. It was the one time that Marilee asked me to watch Clay and I shower him with OJ. Good job, Jen, good job.

This past semester, when Aaron brings his lunch, Dan does not. When Dan brings his lunch, Aaron does not. Dan likes to have a companion when he gets lunch. So, one day Dan points to his phone and tells Aaron that he has a cell phone. He told Aaron to call or text him when you aren't bringing your lunch. Aaron text Dan one morning at 6:30 am of finals to get lunch that day. Prior to lunch, Dan asked Aaron "so... when do you want to go?" Zack immediately looked up from studying and asked 'Go Where, Where are you going?' Dan said 'Aaron text me this morning that he wasn't bringing his lunch so we could go to lunch.' Zack picked up his phone and looked through his messages. He said 'I didn't get a text, why didn't I get a text? I want to go. If I knew you were going to go to lunch would I have done THIS......' He pulled out a tupper with with a can of soup inside. The whole room was laughing and crying.

Matters of the Heart

I heard some songs that I haven't heard in a long time today. Brought me back to when I danced all hours of the night with the Spazmatics while in dental school. I felt so alive! I took a few deep breaths. Those were some fun nights. Even though I love those memories, I told my husband that I wouldn't change my life right now for anything.
I went shopping at 10pm tonight to get some cilantro. I saw a young man with 2 small kids in his cart. At first my reaction was 'those kids should be in bed right now, it's late!' But then my heart was softened. I thought maybe he is a single parent and this is his only time to shop. He couldn't leave the kids home alone. Whether or not it is true, I felt a love for that man. I looked at people in the store a little differently as I left. I am so blessed to have a loving husband who supports me with our beautiful children!

Lucy Likes to Clean AND Henry is smiling

Lucy took a bath with Mommy and noticed the moles and freckles on me. She tried so hard to pick them off my back and neck.

Henry has been giving us some great big smiles for about 2 wks now. He will smile if you start talking to him and when the fan is turned.

Lucy is 2 years, Henry is 2 months

Lucy woke up and found her balloons. She was so happy. We had a birthday party for Lucy on April 30, 2011. She is now 2 years old. I love my sweet girl. She has a few words in her vocab... mommy, mommy, shoos, sides (outside), pees pees (please), apple. So cute! We invited Troy and Trish + Jini; Vanese + Kenna, Evey, Audra, and Joshy; Justina and Taylor + Aiden, Eva; Marilee and Colby + Clay; Dan and Jordan + Olivia; Jessica and Mark + Ret, ???; and Sindle. It was so much fun. Jessica Layton made the most amazing cake for Lucy. It was a delicious Strawberry Shortcake cake. It took Lucy a couple of tries but she did blow out her candles.

I had to buy 6 month clothes for our 2 month old little boy! He is our big little squishy. Such a good boy. He is well taken care of other that the occasional book she drops on his head.

Your children makes you want to procreate!

Bella at Trader Joes loves Lucy. She calls Lucy "angel food cake". I brought Henry in to see her. She told everyone in her checkout lane 'Her children makes you want to procreate!'. Henry has the biggest cheeks. Someone at church said 'His cheeks are so delicious'.

Lucy's first real OOUCHY

April 16, Lucy was helping mommy fix brunch and her quick little right hand touched the toaster oven. She had second to third degree burn on the back side of her hand including her two middle fingers. She would shake her hand and cry trying to get it off her. It was so sad. Her little hand was all wrapped up.
Aaron had a clinical rotation at the Summerlin Hospital were he was given a bag full of stuff to put on the burn. Within 2 weeks it was gone.

Henry is Here!

Aaron took pics of my enormous belly the night Henry was born. We put Lucy to bed at 8pm. The contractions began around 11:00pm on March 3rd. By 12:00am, the mucous plug released the water. That was a new experience for me. My water did not break with Lucy. My sweet husband filled a wonderfully relaxing tub for me with soothing oils and Hypnobaby music in the background. We timed the pressure waves until about 1am. My body felt like pushing so my husband called Sherry Hopkins, our midwife. She arrived at 1:30 with 2 assistants. My husband and the 3 women were angels. I tried pushing on my back for a while, but did not feel right. I returned to the position that I had Lucy in... on my knees leaning over a pile of blankets. That position feels familiar and comfortable to me. My sweet husband never left my side. I love him! Minutes went by but they felt like hours. At last, the crowning moment came and I pushed. With Lucy, after the crown she squished out. Not Henry. I pushed and pushed his shoulders out. I continued to push and push his belly out. Finally his legs came out. Henry was born at 3:16am on March 4, 2011. I needed to catch my breath after the birth before they laid him in my arms. I thanked everyone in the room with me and told them how much I love them. They took me to my bed, gave me an Ibuprofen, and a banana. That banana tasted so good! It felt wonderful to lay in my own bed. The 3 women cleaned up the room, bathroom, and washed the dishes. Aaron and I were very impressed and grateful! They weighed little Henry... 9lbs. I was in shock, but it made sense. They left around 4:30am. We were exhausted but excited to get to know our new little handsome boy.

Remodel

Tiled 1200 square feet! The spirit was strong while Hector shared his thoughts as he tiled. We enjoyed having him over here every day for 2 months (Jan thru Feb). Finally finished the kitchen and bathroom. Looks beautiful!
