Well, we finished the fireplace! The slate is still a little wet in some of the pictures from washing off the mortar, but you can get the idea. I have to say, for a couple of kids who don't really know what they are doing, it looks way better than what came in the house.

And while I'm sorry I couldn't actually help with the laying (I was looking forward to the education) I'm glad I got to help in some small way. Be sure to put up pix when you get the floor done!
